Christian university offers two new online degree programs
As online education becomes more popular, the number of web-based degree options continues to increase. Students who are interested in art, nursing, education or science have thousands of online schools and distance learning programs from which they may choose.
For example, adults who are looking for a Christian-based and academically rigorous web-based program, may want to consider enrolling at Liberty University (LU) Online. The online school recently announced the launch of two new degree-seeking tracks.
LU Online now offers a bachelors of science degree in aeronautics and a masters of education degree in teaching and learning with an education technology concentration. The school also offers an additional 40 accredited degree options.
The online bachelors program in aeronautics is designed for people who possess a commercial pilot’s certificate, but have not yet earned a degree. The curriculum consists of seven advanced online aviation courses that work with the credits received from a commercial certificate. Student’s who have not completed the general education requirements for this program may do so through LU Online.
Graduates of this program may become commercial, corporate or missionary pilots.
The masters in teaching degree track is designed for educators who wish to understand how to integrate the latest technology into higher education. Graduates may be prepared for a career in the technology field in the education sector.
The Sloan Consortium reports that there were approximately 4 million college students enrolled in fully online courses during the 2008-2009 academic year.
